Winterberry Wonder

Winterberry glows with holiday color. This wreath weathers well indoors and out. For best results, gather winterberry after the first hard frost. The cold weather causes the leaves to drop from the branches, leaving only the brilliant berries. Outdoors, with cool temperatures, winterberry lasts about three months. Inside your home, hang it away from direct light and where it won't be disturbed. It will stay pretty for about a year.

Who says the back porch has to be attached to the house? One Memphis family enjoys theirs, which is nestled in the heart of the back yard. Although the structure was part of the property when the family bought the home several years ago, its size and scale seem ideal for today. The screened porch section measures 8 x 12 feet; exposed beams on the inside give it an open feel. To the left, an enclosed room that's used for storing outdoor equipment takes up another eight feet. - Integrated Cabinets
