The front door opens into a combination dining room/library. Joe Paul, an architect, built a secret door in the wall (just behind Sabine’s chair) to hide the ladder that moves around the room to reach books on the second level. The arched, unfinished copper ceiling reflects outdoor light and gives the space a warm glow.
