Room for Family and Fun

This renovation called for removing a wall that separated the kitchen from a spare bedroom and connecting the two smaller spaces into one room with several functional areas. The homeowners' two sons were the inspiration behind the addition of the extra cabinet that accomodates a computer center. Constructed of pine to match the new kitchen cabinets, the center holds everything from school supplies to a small television concealed in the upper area.

Who says the back porch has to be attached to the house? One Memphis family enjoys theirs, which is nestled in the heart of the back yard. Although the structure was part of the property when the family bought the home several years ago, its size and scale seem ideal for today. The screened porch section measures 8 x 12 feet; exposed beams on the inside give it an open feel. To the left, an enclosed room that's used for storing outdoor equipment takes up another eight feet. - Integrated Cabinets
