To keep the space from looking too tame, stylist Gena Sigala relied on accessories, also in neutral, but full of character
and quirks. Old textiles from a flea market were made into slipcovers for the cushions of a favorite daybed moved outside.

Who says the back porch has to be attached to the house? One Memphis family enjoys theirs, which is nestled in the heart of the back yard. Although the structure was part of the property when the family bought the home several years ago, its size and scale seem ideal for today. The screened porch section measures 8 x 12 feet; exposed beams on the inside give it an open feel.
