These homeowners wanted a small office area with room for a computer in the kitchen. Using the same granite and cabinet style, the desk fits seamlessly into the space. Drawers were outfitted with file racks to keep paperwork organized. An open cabinet, filled with slots, stores mail. This is the perfect spot for catching up on bills. The desk was kept at countertop level, so the desk barstool can be used for additional seating at the island.

Who says the back porch has to be attached to the house? One Memphis family enjoys theirs, which is nestled in the heart of the back yard. Although the structure was part of the property when the family bought the home several years ago, its size and scale seem ideal for today. The screened porch section measures 8 x 12 feet; exposed beams on the inside give it an open feel. To the left, an enclosed room that's used for storing outdoor equipment takes up another eight feet. - Integrated Cabinets
