Pivotal Addition
This couple loved the idea of being able to open an entire wall of their home to the outside. So designer Joshua Coggenshall
created a wall for the couple's bedroom addition that tilts upward, like a garage door. A system of pulleys, rope, and cleats
allows the wall to be raised easily, extending the living space out onto the deck. The hardware was purchased from a boat
supply store. When down, the wall adds appeal to the room. The translucent panels are made of an industrial greenhouse material.

Outdoor Paradise
Who says the back porch has to be attached to the house? One Memphis family enjoys theirs, which is nestled in the heart of the back yard. Although the structure was part of the property when the family bought the home several years ago, its size and scale seem ideal for today. The screened porch section measures 8 x 12 feet; exposed beams on the inside give it an open feel. To the left, an enclosed room that's used for storing outdoor equipment takes up another eight feet. - Integrated Cabinets
