New slanted window walls of tempered glass--borrowing an idea used in the original master suite of this home--combine with a new oak floor and a crisp red, white, and blue palette to create a warm and contemporary interior. The designer chose a primary color palette to reinforce the classic modernity of this design while giving it visual appeal. These hues also enhance the playful nature of the house.

Who says the back porch has to be attached to the house? One Memphis family enjoys theirs, which is nestled in the heart of the back yard. Although the structure was part of the property when the family bought the home several years ago, its size and scale seem ideal for today. The screened porch section measures 8 x 12 feet; exposed beams on the inside give it an open feel. To the left, an enclosed room that's used for storing outdoor equipment takes up another eight feet. - Integrated Cabinets
