A set of $150 antique fir doors became the starting point for this kitchen's new layout. A small walk-in appliance center with pantry storage was constructed based on the doors' original size. The center's multiple electrical outlets accommodate the toaster, microwave, and blender, while keeping the limited counterspace clear for food preparation and dining.

Who says the back porch has to be attached to the house? One Memphis family enjoys theirs, which is nestled in the heart of the back yard. Although the structure was part of the property when the family bought the home several years ago, its size and scale seem ideal for today. The screened porch section measures 8 x 12 feet; exposed beams on the inside give it an open feel. To the left, an enclosed room that's used for storing outdoor equipment takes up another eight feet. - Integrated Cabinets
