The kitchen sits in the center of the house and encourages traffic from both ends -- a plus for entertaining. The owners remodeled
it with stainless-steel appliances, marble countertops, and an island. Once a cramped galley, it now opens on one side to
a breakfast nook, which was formerly a guest bedroom, and on the other to a foyer connecting the living and family rooms.

Although the structure was part of the property when the family bought the home several years ago, its size and scale seem ideal for today.
