We used a 13¼- by 19¼-inch pine-framed board that cost about $8. A frame of 1-by-2s and a short length of dowel organize the interior. There's even space for eye hooks to hold keys.

Integrated Cabinets
These homeowners designed this kitchen using the concept of integrated space. Visually the kitchen, rimmed with a boomerang-curved bar, is a seamless extension of the living and dining rooms. Can't spot the refrigerator? That's the idea. Panels of maple with insets of bird's-eye maple disguise the appliance. - Dream Time
