What's a kitchen without upper cabinets? "Clean and casual," says interior designer Traci Kearns. "Because there's a bevy of surrounding windows that also contain a lot of mullions, upper cabinetry would have competed with this look." Tiers of cantilevered shelves get the job done. Integrated Cabinets
These homeowners designed this kitchen using the concept of integrated space. Visually the kitchen, rimmed with a boomerang-curved bar, is a seamless extension of the living and dining rooms. Can't spot the refrigerator? That's the idea. Panels of maple with insets of bird's-eye maple disguise the appliance. - Dream Time
