Home-Office Nooks: Out of the Attic
An architect designed what is essentially a desk-sized dormer with windows on three sides to create an office in this home. The popped-up roof allows just enough room to stand and is made of translucent panels, so the space is suffused with light. A desktop spans the space. Storage drawers are built in below the work surface.

Integrated Cabinets
These homeowners designed this kitchen using the concept of integrated space. Visually the kitchen, rimmed with a boomerang-curved bar, is a seamless extension of the living and dining rooms. Can't spot the refrigerator? That's the idea. Panels of maple with insets of bird's-eye maple disguise the appliance. - Dream Time
