A front door says a lot about a home. And it is true that old ones add character. Nowadays old doors are easy to find at salvage stores, but they can get quite costly when factoring in hardware and adjusting the door's size to fit an existing frame. Who says the back porch has to be attached to the house? One Memphis family enjoys theirs, which is nestled in the heart of the back yard. Although the structure was part of the property when the family bought the home several years ago, its size and scale seem ideal for today. The screened porch section measures 8 x 12 feet; exposed beams on the inside give it an open feel. To the left, an enclosed room that's used for storing outdoor equipment takes up another eight feet. - Integrated Cabinets
