Color Blocks
Interior designer Jay Jeffers transformed this once all-white wall into an accent wall by enhancing it with a single color
block. Jeffers painted a 10-by-6 foot blue rectangle in the center, giving definition to artwork and adding a subtle wash
of color to that side of the room. To make an accent wall like the one here, use painter's masking tape to outline a large
rectangle in the center of the wall, leaving a wide band of the original color outside the edges. Fill in the rectangle with
a color that contrasts with the rest of the wall. » see room

Outdoor Paradise
Who says the back porch has to be attached to the house? One Memphis family enjoys theirs, which is nestled in the heart of the back yard. Although the structure was part of the property when the family bought the home several years ago, its size and scale seem ideal for today. The screened porch section measures 8 x 12 feet; exposed beams on the inside give it an open feel. To the left, an enclosed room that's used for storing outdoor equipment takes up another eight feet. - Integrated Cabinets
