Color Blocks
Photo: Matthew Millman; Designer: Jay Jeffers
Interior designer Jay Jeffers transformed this once all-white wall into an accent wall by enhancing it with a single color block. Jeffers painted a 10-by-6 foot blue rectangle in the center, giving definition to artwork and adding a subtle wash of color to that side of the room. To make an accent wall like the one here, use painter's masking tape to outline a large rectangle in the center of the wall, leaving a wide band of the original color outside the edges. Fill in the rectangle with a color that contrasts with the rest of the wall.
