Inspired by the Garden

An embellished Fraser fir wreath hangs from the door knocker as a gesture of welcome. Wild plum branches covered in lichen form a triangle on the wreath. Dried French hydrangea blossoms, reindeer moss, and cuttings of Eastern red cedar and beautyberry contribute color. With all of these natural elements, it's not necessary to add any ribbon.

Who says the back porch has to be attached to the house? One Memphis family enjoys theirs, which is nestled in the heart of the back yard. Although the structure was part of the property when the family bought the home several years ago, its size and scale seem ideal for today. The screened porch section measures 8 x 12 feet; exposed beams on the inside give it an open feel. To the left, an enclosed room that's used for storing outdoor equipment takes up another eight feet. - Integrated Cabinets
