Let There Be Light
Deck the halls, porches, entries and landscaping with garlands of light. Try running strands of miniature lights along edges of your home's architectural features, such as bay windows and chimneys, or around trellises and gazebos. Sculptural plants become even more beautiful when illuminated against the night sky. Just be sure to use lights approved for outdoor use; cool-burning miniatures are best for plants.

Outdoor Paradise
Who says the back porch has to be attached to the house? One Memphis family enjoys theirs, which is nestled in the heart of the back yard. Although the structure was part of the property when the family bought the home several years ago, its size and scale seem ideal for today. The screened porch section measures 8 x 12 feet; exposed beams on the inside give it an open feel. To the left, an enclosed room that's used for storing outdoor equipment takes up another eight feet. - Integrated Cabinets
