wreath and garland on mantel

The boxwood garland adorning the stone mantel at left adds a touch of color, like ribbon on a package. Boxwood isn't as full or thick as Fraser fir or magnolia, making it perfect for narrow mantels. A magnolia wreath is a nice complement to the boxwood garland. A satin bow adds some red, and rich wood candlesticks and beeswax candles cast a warm glow. Use florist water picks, and place fresh greenery and berries in the garland on each end of the mantel, making sure the florist picks are hidden.
