Pergola Points the Way

Before the landscape makeover, first-time visitors to the Montecito, California, home often ended up at the back door instead
of the front. A new pergola sitting astride the correct path makes the proper direction unmistakable. It’s especially pretty
in winter when the leafless European white birches flanking it show off their white bark.
