Give a room a modern feel with big blocks of color. Here, fabric was spread over canvases and a frame was added made from edge molding (found at hardware stores). Fasten the fabric to the canvas with a staple gun. Use a handsaw and miter box to cut four pieces of L-shaped edge molding to fit around the canvas; secure the molding by hammering several brads through the back of it and into the wood frame holding the canvas.

Who says the back porch has to be attached to the house? One Memphis family enjoys theirs, which is nestled in the heart of the back yard. Although the structure was part of the property when the family bought the home several years ago, its size and scale seem ideal for today. The screened porch section measures 8 x 12 feet; exposed beams on the inside give it an open feel. To the left, an enclosed room that's used for storing outdoor equipment takes up another eight feet. - Integrated Cabinets
