This wonderful interior window was not in the homeowners' plans--it was something that their residential designer devised on a whim. Today, though, it's one of the things guests notice first and one of the homeowners' favorite aspects of the serene space. This window allows light from the house to filter into the bathroom, while blinds provide privacy when needed.

These homeowners designed this kitchen using the concept of integrated space. Visually the kitchen, rimmed with a boomerang-curved bar, is a seamless extension of the living and dining rooms. Can't spot the refrigerator? That's the idea. Panels of maple with insets of bird's-eye maple disguise the appliance.
