MHI: The house chore I despise is… KS: Without a doubt, folding and putting away laundry. I'm fine with washing and drying it, and I'll admit that I love the smell of fresh laundry, but if I could hand over the chore of doing laundry, I would do so happily and never look back! Karla might not enjoy laundry, but her laundry room hasn’t been neglected. See how she organized this space and her inspiration for doing so here.

MHI: The one thing in my house I cannot live without is… KS: I have to admit, my immediate thought was my husband! He's my carpenter and partner in making all of the really big changes that happen in our home. He's a keeper, for sure! But if we're talking about an object that I cannot live without, then I'd have to say my fan deck and paint chips. I consult them probably more than I should, but they are the first thing I go to when I get that urge to transform a space. Karla’s husband, Will, is responsible for so many of their home’s DIY projects. See how he totally transformed their family room’s fireplace façade here.
