Tideland Haven Idea House

Tideland Haven

Triangular-shaped dormers, located on the front and rear, are actually the hallmark of this Southern Living Home Awards design. With only 2,400 square feet, Tideland Haven (SL-1375) lives much larger -- thanks to its porches, vaulted ceilings, and open floor plan.

Heart of the House

The kitchen, centrally located within the house, seems to float amidst the one-level living space. The upper cabinets (with glass doors) are suspended to provide unobstructed views to other rooms.

Cozy and Private

Plenty of windows and easy access to the adjacent screened porch help to maximize natural light in the master bedroom. Private, spacious, and comfortable best describe the suite.

Retreat and Relax

Tall windows and a vaulted ceiling lend a spacious feeling to this restful study. Its wide, cased opening topped with a transom further defines the spacious feeling of the interiors.

Live Big for Entertaining

Designed as an open floor plan, the living room flows freely into the foyer, kitchen, and dining room. Architect Jim Strickland, of Historical Concepts, says, "This is truly a house that can be enjoyed while sitting in any number of locations. Each view has its own special feeling and physical attributes."

Indoor/Outdoor Living

The wraparound porch, with broad roof overhangs for shade, makes this home ideal for outdoor living and entertaining. To achieve the custom-designed look, this house plan comes complete with authentic exterior architectural detailing, such as porch railings and trim.
