Having no budget for curtains myself, I am always excited to see a decorator I respect forego them. Of course, this window in Carolyn Malone's Atlanta living room, from Cottage Living magazine, is very pretty, so leaving it unadorned is an easier choice than trying to make a design element out of my own metal-framed windows.
Malone framed another window with antique shutters. I love the introduction of weathered wood into this room, adding texture and picking up the tones of the floor.
I have one of these tiered metal stands myself (bought at a flea market), and I've never known quite what to do with it. Here, as a display for a few Bosc pears, it makes perfect sense.
